Distribution Strategist

In the summer of 2015 I worked at Women Make Movies as the Distribution Strategy Intern. My role required me to focus on three newly acquired films within the WMM catalog and connect those titles to the organizations who would most benefit from their use in educational outreach. The project included identifying influencers within the academic community and non-profit organizations on the local and national level whose missions and research interests aligned with the subject matter of the films, with the goal of securing a license or forming strategic partnerships to widen the reach of each title. I was responsible for placing two of the films, PRIVATE VIOLENCE and DREAMCATCHER, in the National Sexual Violence Resource Center Database where it is accessible to the over 30,000 advocates, educators and legal experts who utilize the service each year.
